On July 14, 2020, the House Appropriations Committee reported to the House floor, H.R. 7616, so-called “T-HUD” legislation, to provide funding for fiscal year (FY) 2021 to the Department of Transportation (DOT), including the hazardous materials programs of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) Office of Hazardous Materials Safety (OHMS).  OHMS oversees the safety standards and regulations that facilitate the commercial transportation of hazardous materials by air, highway, rail and vessel. Providing funding enables OHMS to effectively and efficiently carry out its essential missions.
