2018-17 August 14, 2018 Report on Proposals Discussed at the 53rd Session of the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods

From June 25 – July 4, 2018, the United Nations Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (SCETDG) held its 53rd session in Geneva, Switzerland. The SCETDG addressed 60 formal proposals (working papers) in 9 general topic areas as well as 73 informal (INF). Additional INF papers were presented prior to or at the meeting.

In this report, we provide brief summaries of each proposal and linked those summaries to the individual proposals. Further, we have presented these proposals in subject categories as shown below.

  2. Listing, classification, and packing
  3. Electric storage systems
  4. Transport of gases
  5. Miscellaneous proposals of amendments to the Model Regulations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods
  6. Global harmonization of transport of dangerous goods regulations with the Model Regulations
  7. Cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency
  8. Issues relating to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS)
  9. Other business
