2018-12 May 24, 2018 Pre-Meeting Report on Proposals to be Discussed at the 53rd Session of the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods

From June 25 – July 4, 2018, the United Nations Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (SCETDG) will hold its 53rd session in Geneva, Switzerland. The SCETDG agenda will address 60 formal proposals (working papers) in 9 general topic areas as well as 5 informal (INF) papers as of the time of publication. Additional INF papers may be expected as the meeting date approaches.

This is the third session of the new biennium. The Provisional Agenda is available here, its addendum is available here. Changes to the UN Model Regulations agreed at all four sessions of this biennium will form the basis for amendments included in the 21st revised edition. The Journal's accompanying Pre-Meeting Report on Papers to be Discussed at the 35th Session of the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals will be issued to subscribers by email this coming Tuesday, May 29.

In this report, we provide brief summaries of each proposal and linked those summaries to the individual proposals. Further, we have presented these proposals in subject categories as shown below.

  5. Miscellaneous proposals of amendments to the Model Regulations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods

  8. Issues relating to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS)
